Orchard Cottage is conveniently situated in a quiet location close to village amenities. Saxilby is a large village on the border where Nottinghamshire juts into Lincolnshire some 6 miles northwest of the historic City of Lincoln and 5 miles west of the Lincolnshire Showground and RAF Scampton. It has the sight of narrow boats and cabin cruisers slowly passing by along the Foss Dyke, a watercourse built by the Romans and deepened for more ambitious traffic by Henry the First.
